The Lagos State Government says the Vehicle Inspection Services and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will work with the Federal Road Safety Corps to rid the state of its traffic problems.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Anofiu Elegushi, made this statement during a visit to his office in Alausa, Ikeja, by the Lagos State Sector Commander of the FRSC.
He said:
“Managing traffic in Lagos requires all agencies with related responsibility to act in unison rather than at cross purpose.
“Synergy among traffic and security agencies will boost enforcement against traffic offences. A significant number of motorists and vehicles do not have the necessary papers to be on the road.”
He also called for the establishment of a mobile court to try traffic offenders arrested by the team.
