Chiamaka Nnadozie amongst finalists for CAF women’s best player award




Nigerian goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has been listed among the final five nominees for the 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.

The African football governing body announced the top echelon of candidates for the coveted award in a tweet on Wednesday night, December 4, and only

Nnadozie is the Nigerian named among the five finalists as Raheedat Ajibade did not make the final cut despite being named in the initial 10-player list.






Other footballers in the top five are Tabitha Chawinga, Temwa Chawinga, Barbara Banda and Sanaâ Mssoudy.

The award will now have a different winner from Asisat Oshoala for the first time since 2018. The Super Falcons striker won the award six times including the last three editions.







For the coach of the year, Chris Danjuma of Falconets was named among the finalists ahead of compatriots Bankole Olowookere of Flamingos and Moses Adukwu of Edo Queens, who were included in the initial nominees’ list.



The Super Falcons are nominated for the national team of the year, while Edo Queens are among the ranks for the club of the year.
